Defining Hatha Yoga

The word Hatha is Sanskrit and means Ha for sun and Tha for moon. The purpose of Hatha yoga is to create a balance between the energies of sun and moon, with the aim to achieve inner peace and stillness. Unlike more physical and dynamic yoga such as Ashtanga and Vinyasa, Hatha yoga are using static positions (asanas) in a gentle pace and with an incisive focus. The positions are also alternated with breathing techniques (pranayama) and meditation exercises to balance body and mind.

Hathayoga is used to strengthing, lengthening and calming the body. It is suited for everyone and are free from the aim of performing. If practicing Hathayoga regularly the effect may be a stronger, more flexible body with less tensions, more mental clarity, power and inspiration. It can also give better sleep, balance and concentration.

It's absolutely fantastic :) don't you think? Just do some Hatha Yoga and the rest will unfold.
